Graham Jackson: On Thursday 11th October we lost our section founder, chairman & above all our very good friend Graham Jackson. He loved life, looked after our members as his family, had a heart as big as the sun & will be sorely missed. He will be riding heavens highways on his C15, God bless you Graham.

Wed 10th Oct: Lancs Lanes Run:

What a lovely day! Glorious sunshine for our impromptu re-run of the rain cancelled June Lancs Lanes Run. 17 machines assembled at the Butty Hut on the A6 nr Forton, then Hollins Lane to Forton - back road to Scorton Picnic Area then Scorton  - Barnacre Church - Oakenclough- Harris End Fell - Abbeystead - view stop at Jubillee Tower on the way to Glasson.Thanks to all who turned up.

Tues 2nd Oct: AGM: Graham Jackson awarded position of Honorary Life President; new Chairman Jeff Chambers, New Secretary: Henry Gregson; Deputy Treasurer Chris Wolfended, Treasurer: Dave Hinton; Committe Member: Albert Risley. (see minutes for more details)

Sun 30th Sept : NW Section Chipping to Malham run:

Great day, 12 of us set off from Broughton to Chipping to sign on & get the route plan, then on to Slaidburn for bacon butties & brews, 6 wanted a short day so returned whilst the remaining 6 set off for Malham, after coffee & cake (very civilised) we set off home via Settle / Ingleton then Bull Beck for yet more brews then finally home......around 110 miles for the run itself,  good crack with NW Sec guys.

Sun 16th Sept: Arnside Chippy Run:

Well, fortune favours the brave yet again, although when I landed at Knott End 9:30 it was pouring down by 10 it had stopped & 5 of us (me, Ronnie, John, Terry & Vaughan) set off,-  no rain at all to Bull Beck,  a tiny couple of minutes shower at Bull Beck then NO rain, and even sunshine from Devils Bridge all the way over Arkholme to Arnside, sat in lovely sunshine scoffing fish & chips, sunny dry road ride home via Sandside, Milnthorpe, Lancaster & then back road to Glasson, for a brew.Although it promised nothing it ended a brilliant day's ride.

Sun 9th Sept: BVPG Lytham Show: Just 3 of us braved the weather with Henry winning best bike with his BSA

Sun 2nd Sept: Rivington Run:

Well the last 3 Rivington runs had 8 then 4 then 3 attending but today we had 12! 10 from Blackpool plus 2 from Central Lancs Then Alex Graham & his Aussie friend Geoff met us at Rivington. The sun came out & Rivington was packed.
Broughton to Longridge then Ribchester the A59 to Samlesbury back road to Roach Bridge, Belmont & over the tops to Rivington. After Bacon & egg butties & a brew we split with 6 going the "long way home" ( Coppull - Standish - Parbold - Rufford - Tarleton & Preston) the rest going the shortest route home. All agreed very good day.

Sun 12th Aug: Longridge/Waddington Fell Run:

What a good day! 5 of us met up at Broughton then for the most part, 70 miles of bone dry roads & not a drop of rain!Broughton - Longridge - Hurst Green - bypassed Clitheroe on new country route to Waddington over Waddington Fell to Newton & finally the good ladies of the village hall in Dunsop B. Home over Jubilee Tower -Quernmore & Hollins Lane etc.Very enjoyable day for all!! Shame there wasn't more of us.

Sun 22nd July Lytham Hall Classic Show: 32 bikes on show, great day!!  TT Themed stand with "Slippery Sam" (special thanks to John Abram) Congrats to Geoff : Best in show award for his 1927 AJS & Jeff runner up with 1960 Triumph Thunderbird

Wed 11th July: Mid week Run: Scorton to Slaidburn via High Bentham & Tatham Fells

13 set off for a stunning ride from The Butty Hut on the A6 (with 4 travelling from Knott End to The Butty Shack) for Slaidburn via High Bentham & Tatham Fells, the views were breathtaking! Late breakfast at The Butty Shack, fab views, great riding roads, good company & finishing with fruit pie & ice-cream at the Riverbank Tearooms Slaidburn. Leisurely ride home through the Trough stopping to admire the views at Jubilee Tower What more do you want! Many thanks to all who turned out.

Sat 30th June: Wrea Green Club Day Display: Huge thanks to everyone who came along today  & also for the help in packing up! Most appreciated. Great turnout 25 bikes with VMCC visitors from Bolton & Blackburn as well! Fab weather of course & we were the star attraction on centre stage - right in the middle if the village green! Well done to Chris for best bike award. A great first appearance of our new club gazebo as well!

Sun 24th June: Dunsop Bridge Run: 12 of today had a fabulous ride -Scorton - Barnacre - Oakenclough - Bleasedale Fell - Chipping - Wild Boar Park - Dunsop Bridge for cakes & brews from the wonderful ladies of the village. Then we split some going thro' the Trough home & some over Quernmore Fell - Jubilee Tower - Scotforth - Lancaster & back road to Glasson for yet more tea! Great day & God bless the World Cup the roads were empty!

Sun 17th June: Ribble Steam Railway Museum Open Day & Classic Show:
Many thanks to to the guys who turned out today at Preston Steam Railway Museum Open Day, 10 bikes on show - once again very slow with visitors until it picked up after lunch. However the (free) bacon & sausage balm went down a storm as did free brews all day!

Wed 13th June: Chairmans Run: What a great day out today.............13 (14 including Helen! ) set off from Grahams (as you will see in the photo we had to leave Chairman Graham behind as we wouldn't have been able to keep up with his new demon machine) Over Wyre to St Michaels up the A6 to the Butty Hut (general concesus best bacon butty on the Fylde !)........then up to Hollins Lane at Quernmore crossroads right to Jubilee Tower across the Trough to Dunsop Bridge & then the Riverside Cafe at Slaidburn for fruit pie & ice-cream all the while bathed in sunshine. From Slaidburn over the tops on "Quiet Lane" to Bentham - if you have not been on this road (as a few of us hadn't) utterly breathtaking views from the top! Down the valley left turn before Bentham on a quiet curvy country road to Wray then Bullbeck for brew & loo. Everyone then went their own way home. Really good day - about 100 miles door to door - great company, good food, good weather & lots of biking!

Tues 5th June: June Mtg Bike Night: Fabulous night, glorious warm sunshine..............long may it continue! Great turnout so many thanks to everyone who came along on a bike.

Sun 20th May: Central Lancs Section Girder Fork Run: Great day, fabulous weather loads of interesting bikes 18 met up nr Broughton to go to Goosnargh where we wandered round the assembled flat tank /girder fork machines, John of course was entering................once we saw them off on their merry way we bimbled down Mill Lane from Goosnargh cross country to Chipping for a brew.Then about noon several went off on a ride to Dunsop Bridge & the Trough whilst the rest went over Jeffrey Hill to Longridge & back to Goosnargh to see the run return. Good day out ...............

Wed 9th May: Steve King Memorial Run: For those who don't know we lost our member Steve suddenly & unexpectedly in 2016, we scattered his ashes on a run in May that year & have had a run in his memory every since - He certainly sent us a good day this year! What a grand day out!...............9 of set off from Scorton - bacon butties & brews at Bull Beck then on to Ingleton - Ribblehead viaduct - Horton in Ribblesdale - comfort & fuel stop in Settle - Long Preston & finally Slaidburn Riverside Cafe for fruit pie & ice-cream! Then home -Dunsop Bridge & over the Trough. Fab roads, very little traffic, good company & dry all day...........what more can you want!


Sun 6th May: VMCC Relay Rally: Checkpoint at Grahams, fabulous weather & a great day. 29 signed on with lots of folk dropping by for a chat & a look at the varied bikes coming & going. Thanks to Jeanette for stirling work on bacon butties & brews all day for us!!!

May mtg: Treat of run meant only 4 brave souls ventured out on bikes, lets hope better weather for next time!

April 29th: 17 set off from Knott End to Woody's Crook O'Lune for the first easy run of the year. The sun shone (a bonus for tis year)

Apr Mtg: Many thank to Alex Graham for a really entertaining talk on the history & workings of ignition systems including some fascinating facts about spark plugs! (yes really!) Lots of positive feedback & a packed house too

Mar Mtg: Roy Horton tales from a lifetime riding his Hesketh motorcycle - very entertaining evening to a packed house!

Feb Mtg: Film night: Jeff's film of our members visit to the Manx Rally (as part of Classic TT) In August last year - or our Secretary's holiday photos!!

Jan Mtg: Christmas Hot Pot Night - entertainment by our very own "The Ariel Three" !
